Wine of the Week..."The Quarterback" Red! Make this a part of your game-day tradition!

Top Wine of the Week (WOW) from Uncorked
Week of October 11, 2010
It's official!  It's Football Season!  What better way to show your support and love of the sport than to drink a wine from De Lisio affectionately named "The Quarterback" Red?!
"The Quarterback" Red Blend originates from McClaren Vale...not typically a region known for Football.  Luckily for wine drinkers, this is a well known region for FABULOUS red wine!  This Blend is comprised of 30% Cabernet, 27% Merlot, 26% Shiraz, and 17% Grenache.
There are very few Australian wines that can boast 4 varieties deliberately blended together to achieve a wine that tastes so complete.  It is aptly named as the four varieties are in approximately equal proportions.  And if you need ONE MORE reason to take a chance on this wine, it's recent 90 point rating from Wine Advocate is helpful:
"Last year I was shown four De Lisio wines, this year only the entry level 2007 Quarterback, a sign of the times in a microcosm. The wine is a blend of 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, 27% Merlot, 26% Shiraz, and 17% Grenache aged for 15 months in seasoned French oak. Dark ruby in color, it delivers an enticing bouquet of floral notes, spice box, black cherry, and blueberry. Full-bodied, ripe, and sweetly-fruited on the palate, it manages to retain a sense of elegance. This lengthy blend has enough structure to evolve for 1-2 years but there is no reason to delay your gratification. It is also an excellent value."

Wine of the Week...Over the Edge Pinot Noir!

Top Wine of the Week (WOW) from Uncorked
Week of October 4, 2010
While Uncorked always brings value...this week Uncorked is featuring a Pinot Noir that should be bought by the case, not the bottle!  BUT-Just as a reminder and as a convenience to our clients, there is no minimum with Uncorked!
This Pinot Noir has Uncorked "Over the Edge."  Pun intended.  Over the Edge Pinot Noir 2009 is sourced from New Zealand and it under 15.00 per bottle!
Typically lower priced Pinot Noirs err on the acidic side.  Over the Edge really over delivers for the price.  This is a perfectly priced Pinot Noir to usher in the Fall.  Drink this wine easily Monday through Friday, especially at this price point.  Or use this wine to pour for a large gathering or party!
