Product Description

The Stewart family is dedicated to fine artisan winemaking, that’s why they have enlisted the talents of world renowned winemaker Paul Hobbs, a man of meticulous craftsmanship. The Stewart’s looked long and hard for the perfect site, to produce the perfect wine, so for their winemaker, Hobbs was the perfect choice. This Pinot Noir is entirely from the Gibson Vineyard; an exciting spot that Hobbs felt had the ideal soil, precise climate and maximum sun exposure.
The growing conditions of 2007 in the Russian River Valley were nearly ideal for producing very ripe, intensely flavored grapes. Rainfall throughout the year was scant and the summer temperatures were moderate. This Pinot Noir clearly shows the quality and character of the stellar vintage.

Stewart Cellars Pinot Noir 2007 Reviews

"Stewart’s 2007 Pinot Noir, which comes from the Gibson Vineyard in Russian River, exhibits a deep ruby/plum color as well as sweet aromas of cola, root vegetables, black cherries, and currants, supple tannins, and a velvety, medium to full-bodied mouthfeel with a hint of forest floor. This complex Pinot is best consumed over the next 3-4 years. This high-class operation boasts Paul Hobbs as its consulting winemaker. The Cabernet Sauvignon comes primarily from the Stagecoach Vineyard in the eastern hills of Oakville, just below the famed Pritchard Hill." - 91, Wine Advocate

Stewart Cellars Pinot Noir 2007 Tasting Notes

The wine is dark purple, immediately forecasting its concentrated dark fruit core. Its aroma is loaded with berry and dark toffee notes, mingling with a subtle touch of very fine French oak. In the mouth the wine is rich and dense, powerful for a Pinot Noir, with a little young tannin that will melt away with years in the bottle. The ripeness of the vintage is evident in the layered notes of plum, cranberry, pomegranate and molasses. The dense, fleshy texture continues through a long, juicy finish.
