Product Description

"Named for pioneer Alexander Cyrus, this appellation is located at the northern end of Sonoma County and runs 22 miles long, varying in width from two to seven miles. The area’s rugged terrain is recognized as one of the New World’s premier growing regions for Bordeaux  varietals. The warmer inland temperatures of this mountainous region are cooled at night by the maritime air that flows from the coast up the Russian River, which winds from the north to the south of Alexander Valley. This daily convergence of temperatures creates a myriad of varying microclimates ideal for this variety, as world-class Cabernet Sauvignon grapes thrive along the rolling hillsides and all the way up the mountain ridges. The soil is shallow and rocky, adding impressive depth and concentration to the character of this variety." - Winery Notes

C & B Reserve Cabernet 2008 Tasting Notes

"Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is a very approachable wine, with silky-soft, well-integrated tannins. This is a lovely, food-friendly wine, having incredible balance of fruit, tannins and acidity. The aroma/palate profile presents: Dark Cherry, Toasted French Vanilla, Casis and Anise, with subtle undertones of coco and native lavender."  - Winery Notes

C & B Reserve Cabernet 2008 Pairings

It is a wine that pairs tremendously well with the richest game, such as venison or boar, and equally well with any but the spiciest preparations of beef or lamb.

"Cooper Mountain’s unique soils are the result of a cataclysmic volcanic event in Eastern Oregon some 50 million years ago.  These soils, along with climactic conditions influenced by our proximity to both the Columbia Gorge and the Chehalem Mountains, help us to produce wines with a specific sense of place.
Cooper Mountain Vineyards got its start in 1978 when Dr. Robert Gross and his wife, Corrine, planted the first Pinot Noir and Chardonnay vines. The two of them tended the vines and carefully nurtured them as they established in the unique soils of Cooper Mountain. The vines matured gracefully to produce authentic Oregon Pinots. At first, the fruit was sold to other wineries and crafted into wine by some of Oregon’s finest winemakers. In 1987, the winery opened to offer its first vintage to the public.  We now farm more than 100 acres, grow five varietals and are committed to sustainability: - Winery Notes

Duckhorn Vineyards Napa Cabernet 2006, 1.5 Liters

"A complex blend of grapes from the greater Napa Valley and seven of its acclaimed appellations, this wine also incorporates a significant amount of fruit from our Estate vineyards. The result is a wine that strikes an effortless balance between dark fruit, oak and tannins. Classic Cabernet elements of black currant, dark cherry, plum and raspberry are accentuated by more subtle layers of mint and black olive. Though a big, structured and age-worthy wine, the tannins are beginning to soften, framing both the fruit and the oak-inspired vanilla and cocoa notes." - Winemaker Notes
Blend: A Bordeaux blend of 76% Cabernet Sauvignon, 21% Merlot and 3% Cabernet Franc.

J Cuvée 20 "Anniversary Label" N/V, 1.5 Liters

"The non-vintage J Cuvée 20 “Anniversary Label” gracefully opens up with crisp lemon peel, honeysuckle and delicate yeast aromas. Upon entry, these notes are followed by a mix of Fuji apple, grapefruit and a sweet hint of angel food cake. The mid-palate flavors are interlaced with toast, caramel, warm pear, and almond. The acidity adds just enough liveliness and the citrus zest leads to a lingering lush finish. This is the perfect celebratory wine. " - Winemaker Notes
