Product Description

"This project started as a tribute to Tempranillo by winemaker Joaquin Galvez and Aurelio. With Tempranillo forming the backbone of Spain’s most famous wines, the La Viña Cooperative in Valencia planted Tempranillo widely with the goal of reproducing some of the qualities of those famous wines. This project would not be possible without the wealth of vineyards and range of altitudes the coop has planted. Contrary to popular opinion that Valencia is too warm for Tempranillo, the cooperative has planted the varietal at a range of altitudes from 300 to nearly 900 meters above sea level, at these high altitudes, the Tempranillo ripens slowly developing a tremendous aromatic potential. The lower altitude vines take advantage of cooling sea breezes and the higher altitude vines cooler night to maintain and develop those aromatic qualities. The reason Cabernet Sauvignon is blended into the wine is to allow for a stylistic continuity vintage to vintage. " - Winery Notes

El Molet 2009 Reviews

"Sweet blackberry aromas come with fl oral edgings, and the whole is impressive. Full-bodied and balanced, with healthy, ripe black cherry and dark plum flavors. Finishes spicy, with a note of bitter espresso. 90% Tempranillo with 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. One of the best wines from Valencia."- 90, Wine Enthusiast

El Molet 2009 Tasting Notes

Inky ruby. Floral aromas of blackberry, tobacco, licorice and dark chocolate. Suave on entry, then firmer in the middle, with an edge of acidity to the dark berry, bitter cherry and mocha flavors. Slightly dry tannins add grip to the spicy, focused finish.
Blend: 85% Tempranillo, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon

Product Description

"I was lucky to marry into one of our region’s most prestigious wine estates at a time when Alto Adige was becoming recognized as one of the world’s finest producers of superlative wines.
I jumped at the chance to take over the family’s two top estates, both located within the boundaries of our region’s best known wine villages – Castel Ringberg, which overlooks the Lake of Caldaro, and Kastelaz, a steep, south-facing hillside, Tramin’s major landmark which is covered from top to bottom in densely planted vineyards. The challenge in changing profession from architect to winemaker was at first daunting. In the meantime my wines have scooped some of Italy’s highest awards, including the much coveted “Three Glasses” from Italy’s most influential wine guide, by the Gambero Rosso." - Winery Notes

WOW: Wine of the Week

The Best Thing Since (Sliced) Bread & Butter!

Bread & Butter Pinot Noir 2012
Ah, the warm nights of Summer are starting to give way to more even keeled temperatures - and THIS wine should be your accompaniment!

At UNDER $14, this Pinot Noir shines as a prime example of the varietal.  It is not overly done, nor is it an exaggerated expression of what many now believe Pinot Noir should be.  Rather, it delights with its seamless fruit and flavor integrations.

This is a wine that will easily become a new favorite and will carry you nicely into fall and winter (hard to imagine, but think Thanksgiving Turkey with this one!).

Product Description

"Bread & Butter is inspired by the wines we like to drink everyday.  It’s what we reach for when we need something reliable, consistent, and delicious.  Classic California Chardonnay with a long, rich kiss of oak and butter.  Pinot Noir that has fruit and spice but with balance and elegance.  These are your go-to wines, your automatics, your Bread & Butter." - Winery Notes

Bread & Butter Pinot Noir 2012 Tasting Notes

"A bright, lively garnet red with flashes of light that almost make the wine sparkle.  Aromas of cherry cola, vanilla tapioca, jasmine tea, with hints of roses, anise and eucalyptus.  The balance and integration continues in the mouth.  Black cherry, orange peel, rhubarb, and a floral tea mingle with hints of caramel, mint, white pepper on a background of toast." - Winery Notes
